In Stephan Herwig’s next work, the dancers’ bodies create a vibrant and mutable organism in an interaction with light and sound. As they wander and meander, multi-dimensional ephemeral atmospheric images are created; they resist a clear attribution. Movement sequences are formed and then dissolve; they progress like gazes or thoughts. They allow observers to follow their own associations and interpretations in the echoes of the dance.

MONUMENT

A dance as a temporary monument. A moment of transience.
Stephan Herwig celebrates with his new piece “Monument” both the volatility of dance as well as the individuality of each.
The dancers create sculptural movement patterns and sequences, which sometimes appear fragile, sometimes vehement.
A manifesto of physicalness arises without leaving physical traces.

Hacer visible el trabajo coreográfico y rastrearlo es la esencia de la presentación de la conferencia
con la bailarina catalana Anna Fontanet (Barcelona) y la coreógrafa de Munich Sabine Glenz.
Dos solos existentes se consideran y editan de nuevo:
La coreógrafa inicialmente bailó “Vi lo que creía que debería ver” (2004) y “un cuerpo dentro” (2006).
Ambos solos inspirados biográficamente son sobre la irritación personal (y física) y los choques,
y los espacios asociados visual y acústicamente ambiguos. Anna Fontanet aprende sobre la conversación con Sabine Glenz,
qué forma y contenido conforman las dos obras. Es un juego con tus propios recuerdos y la libertad de interpretación.
El formato abierto de la presentación de la conferencia surge en el diálogo verbal y de baile.
La textura de una pista coreográfica emerge –el contenido y la esencia formal de la coreografía existente se hacen visibles,
encarnado por la intérprete: en diálogo con imágenes parcialmente grabadas
y los sonidos del estreno, con el coreógrafo y los visitantes presentes.

The digital world has become part of our daily life – and has necessarily changed it. Not only that we walk through cities
with a spellbound stare onto our smart phones and alter our physiognomy: „text neck“ has become a new symptom.
How do human beings change and develop – and how are they optimized – in the context of a digital and technological society?
The internet’s root network offers us all freedoms; we playfully create new identities and realities, expand into the
ever-present and multi-dimensional and still require our real bodies in order to operate the equipment.
Acceleration and multi-tasking characterize these changings; they offer us inspiration for choreographic research.
Together with the dancers, the musicians of 48nord move electroacoustically on the playground of infinite digital possibilities
and transpose them into three-dimensional sensual perception.
